Interactive Spreadsheet

This is my interactive spreadsheet made on excel.  Using excel is definitely a challenge for me, but after several tries... here it is!  Students can compare the sets of words and decide if the second word is a synonym or an antonym, then they will find out the correct answers and their scores. This is a great tool to use in the classroom, and will be very helpful practice for students.

Digital Story

This is a digital story of the places I have visited in the past few years. It truly changed my life, and I hope you enjoy!

Collaboration

486 class, along with several other classes in the program rely heavily on group collaboration for completing assignments. Most group work consists of making lesson plans, and we have discovered some incredibly helpful tools in this class to do so. Although collaboration can be difficult at some times with so many different ideas at work, our high school english group used google docs in order to create a lesson plan in almost a single class period. The program allowed us to talk with one another while simultaneously working on individual parts. It was a great way to focus our conversation and ideas because of the constant visual aide it provided. Google docs is definitely something I will use in the future, whether it is for lesson planning or other tasks.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Recently we used both Picasa and google docs to create a slide show of the pictures we took on a photo scavenger hunt. Picasa and google docs are both great tools, and they are free and require no downloading! These are both great tools to incorporate into the classroom, so that all students can have access to these programs. Enjoy!
